Day 17  - 1/8/03  - Friday

'Another 'Rest' day'

After breakfast (I'm getting cravings for proper jam, rather than the syrup you get out here) we go see Will about the Modestus situation. He basically says I don't care what you say I'll still have to pay up, we leave having made it clear we're only willing to put forward $50 and an apology, not a happy man! Some shopping in the morning, basic supplies (water) clothes, souvenirs, and the all important chocolate for the mountain. Find a shop that sells Mars bars and snickers for a sensible price so I stock up also cheap Cashew nuts yum! Lunch, at the coffee shop again. In the afternoon I do some washing and have another shower as I won't get a chance for quite a while, teach Francis how to wash clothes... Check out the options for hotels for when we arrive back in Moshi after Kilimanjaro. I relax in the de Costa bar for a few hours and watch as Mt. Kilimanjaro is slowly revealed though the clouds, looks huge! Dinner is at the buffalo which does nice food. We arrive at the right time, and are slightly concerned that nobody has seen the team who went to complain about the safari since about 2 pm. After about an hour Badga and Cliff head for the safari office and they are found locked in with the manager because the rest of the staff went home! A collective sigh of relief... Dinner finished we head for bed.
