No sleep, the aircraft is too noisy for it. Relatively entertaining games / film options on screens in the back of the seat in front. Arrived in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 6 am local time (GMT+3) where it was 31C outside! Sat around some more, filled up water bottles. Got on a different plane. Flying was rough but managed to get an hours sleep. Saw first glimpse of Africa, looks just like the African plains you see in nature video's. Aircraft stops off for an hour in Nairobi, Kenya. Last leg is the roughest so far, saw the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro above the clouds looks absolutely massive and worryingly close to an aircraft at 30,000ft! Get to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania around 2 pm. local time ( EAT +2) 20 hours after setting out. Spent the next hour in the airport because Cliff (the safety guy) didn't have a valid visa, (Really encouraging!) Meet man from Ashanti tours, he sorts out transport to the hotel, and of we go. (Hotel, 2*, with DIY plumbing!) Bustling noisy streets. Sorted budget money, ate, then wandered around the market looking for something for lunch the following day. Overwhelming mix of smells, sights, friendly locals and thieves or con artists. Back to hotel and to sleep, quite hard as the market quietens down around 2 am and wakes up again just after call to prayer at 5 am ish.
