Day 26  - 10/8/03  - Sunday

A pre breakfast swim and rather one-sided game of water polo (Vicky and I beating Colin, Gareth and Francis 60-2) Breakfast is a real treat with croissants, cereal, hot chocolate and all! After breakfast we discuss the plan for the rest of R'n'R. As one night in this hotel ate a large hole in our budget, setting us back 660 dollars we clear our rooms and teams set out each way along the beach to try to reach a deal with a hotel which we can afford. Jenna and crew return having arranged a workable deal with the next hotel along the beach (the Palm Tree hotel) after some more haggling / sorting out with the hotel we all wander along with out kit around lunch time, a strange experience walking a long the Indian ocean shore line, barefooted with full bags on. We settle into our base for the next 3 days. It's a nice hotel with huts for accommodation, all the features of the last one, but only the girls get a bath, but a third of the price you can't go wrong! I spend the rest of the day reading, sitting around the pool. The budget boys panic a little as it looks as so the surpluses of nearly 1000 dollars is eaten up very quickly by accommodation costs and it looks as so the budget won't reach. The solution is that people pay for the own meals on R'n'R which suits most people. We eat at the Palm Tree tonight, on our own in the restaurant as the hundred or so other guests who were at the hotel when we arrived have left for home and their jobs in the cities. A piss up follows, I head to bed. Around and hour later I get Simon deposited in the room I'm sleeping in, he's rather drunk, after a while he starts hollering at the top of his voice, "I want Gareth, bring me Gareth" I try to get him to shut up, there follows a just William moment (as in the girl who threatens to scream until she's sick), not wanting to be thrown up over or be deafened I get up and return to the bar. Badga, Gareth and Jenna find my story amusing..... Simon is too out of it to get his mozzi net sorted out, and has 60+ bites come morning.. I shan't comment!
