Us!, all (aprart from cliff) from the Bulmershe School in Woodley (Reading)
(Staff - Leader)
The guy on the payroll of world challenge, he's there to 'facilitate' (so there!) and handle safety, has more health and injury problems than the rest of us! We couldn't decide if he was being really clever and annoying us to make us a stronger team, or whether he was just annoying generally! Considering he is a seasoned traveller I found his apparent lack of tolerance for other cultures suprising.
(YR 12)
Ah Colin, Colin asked all the best (silliest) questions. Some of the best quotes in the quote book involve him... by the end of the month he was well on the way to getting the hang of sarcasm. Always chirpy, would greet you as if you were being reunited after months, several times a day. Really over used the word sorry!
(Staff - French)
The name George is a fairly long story relating to politics and a French lesson with Vicky and Jenny. George is crazy.. Really managed to fit into the team, very easy to forget the teacher student thing, much to the general annoyance of Cliff.
(YR 12)
Generally always there, always willing to lend a hand, willing to learn, he probably got more out of it than any other person. Got the hang of my sense of humour quicker than most!
(YR 13)
Had his moments, enthusiastic at times, dislikes criticism (don't we all). Part of his energy helped to carry the group up on the summit day of Kilimanjaro. The groups self proclaimed best haggler, and general shopper.
(YR 12)
A fellow user of sarcasm, always carried his knife (incredibly useful), fairly practical, clear thinking. Good at every role he took on. Great sense of humour, inventor and curator of the poo log.
(YR 13)
The first 'buddie' Jenna always has energy.. she just could not sit still, always joking, used a little sarcasm in the later weeks generally good fun. Again like Geoff, clear thinking and a hard worker.
(YR 12)
The second 'buddie' had the mother roll, was a good leader but tended to get rather stressed by it. Worked hard. Obvious from the second week that she and Nash were going to get together at some point
(YR 11)
The first budget boy. Nash, Skinner and Geoff make a good team, Nash is the artistic type, not so practical or good at problem solving,(probably used the phrase 'oh yeah' the most), a good sense of humour. Good worker
(YR 12)
The second budget boy, Skinner like Geoff was practical and fairly clear thinking, he was good at every roll he took on (not that that's many the budget taking over most of his time), had a good sense of humour.
(Staff - Management / Geography)
Motivator, spent more time doing the staff thing with Cliff than George but still definately part of the team, practical and clear thinking (unusual features of management!), good sense of humour, fellow user of sarcasm.
(YR 11)
He didn't get the hang of my sense of humour as quickly as Francis, and remained unsure of my use of sarcasm to the end, but generally remained cheerful. Went from someone who had never put up a tent or cooked in his life to a seasoned ('heavily in the case of food') professional (well nearly!)
(YR 12)
Think a real life Kevin of Kevin and Perry fame, we weren't sure why Simon came at the start, we were even less sure by the end.. He went everywhere with drum'n'base style music though headphones, stroppy, disrespectful of customs, a right pain in the ass, but amusing.
